Hi everyone!

We are having a great day here at Dragonfly Tales!  My friend and I are getting ready to head out to do some cosmetic shopping.  Wheeeee!    I love all the holiday items they bring out at Christmas!  

Since My First At Home Mani , which was February 2014, I have not touched cuticle cutters; ....until a few weeks ago.  

Well... you see, I had some hangnails, and that made me remember that I had "those cuticle cutters."  

I am being honest here when I say:  put a pair of cuticle cutters in my hand and I become "Vicki ScissorHands".  

I have hack marks on most of my fingers and  I'm not sure my thumb is going to survive, as I have barely been able to use it for 5 days. 

Seriously, in the event of a zombie attack a cuticle cutter will be my first line of defense!  Maybe you should consider getting one too!  :)

Now, I told you alllll that, so I could show ya this:

This is why I NEED Professional Nail Files!  I (thought) I was cutting my cuticle on the side of my finger.... but no I snapped the edge of my nail right off.  So then I tried to even up the top side and well I was left with that jagged mess you see there.  It was so sharp I think I could have used it to slit my own throat!  Blahahaha! 

When I first received 50 mini nail files, I thought  "50 files is a little over the top".  But, there are several convenient places to keep these mini nail files, and when we had a family gathering, I took some of them to share with others and no one turned me down.  I heard comments like; "oh, I always need a good nail file" and "I love the size of these".  So, yeh, the human race is crying out for a good nail file. ;)

I also think these would be great to include in a spa day party.  Or make up a nail care gift basket, (include cuticle cutters ONLY if you don't like the person you are gifting.)  :/

Here are a couple of pictures to show how much wider and thicker these files are compared to others I have.  The tan color file is NOT the professional one.  Ha!

I really like the grit of these files, they do a great job, and it's nice to share.

I am happy to be here today and hope that you will enjoy our review today.

I am blessed to have two intelligent, kind and loving children.  They each married intelligent, kind and loving mates.  Therefore, I have several people I can call upon should I need advise on what or how to do something.  Yeah, Me!!

My Son-in-Law is one of the smartest men I know.  It boggles my mind all the tasks he is capable of; from car engine repair to carpentry to computer programing/repair to cooking and baking!  I know; Right?   

So, when he started switching out kitchen utensils from whatever to stainless steel; I took notice.  

Today we are reviewing a stainless steel colander from Kukpo.

I like everything about this colander.  It has comfortable handles, the base on it gives stability, and the wide diameter makes for an easier target to hit when one is draining pasta.  

This can hold 5 quarts, so it is also nice for washing fruits and veggies.  

It is bright and shiny and looks attractive.  Bye-bye plastic stainer!

It is also dishwasher safe;  BONUS!!  :)

I have quite a ways to go to get my kitchen switched over to stainless steel, but ya gotta start somewhere!

If you have no children, do you need a baby monitor?

Hello!

Wow, the holidays are upon us!  The older I get, the faster time passes!  We are having an early Thanksgiving meal in just a few days and then BAM it's on!

To answer my own question; Yes, I feel one would find a "baby monitor" quite useful even if there are no children in the household.

And, I'm gonna tell ya why!  

• Security purposes
• Monitoring an elderly live-in
• Checking in on fur babies
• Checking on an ill family member, without disturbing them
• During the holidays, family members with children may visit.  They could  monitor their children at play or sleep.  They would feel this was very thoughtful of you!

This monitor is reasonably priced, set up is very easy and quick.  I am very pleased with how simple it was.  I do not do well with reading directions.  :)

One downloads an app, hooks the monitor up to their router, and electric, opens the app and fills out the required info.  

Once the app shows the monitor is on-line, it is disconnected from the router.

This next image is a screen shot from my cell phone of what the monitor was seeing.

To get different views, one just drags their finger around their cell phone screen and the camera moves.  Pretty Neat!

There is also an alarm should one wish to be notified of movement in the cameras viewing area.

What is a Tens Unit anyway? (video)

Hope ya'll are doing good today!  

I woke up with a headache, decided to just stay in bed longer than usual, and of course that resulted in a signal being sent out to everyone to call me, text me, do anything you can to make sure Vicki doesn't go back to sleep!  :)

Today we are reviewing a Tens Unit by Santa Medical.

This has a re-chargeable battery, with a USB cable, so that it can be charged through a computer or electrical outlet.

I have used a tens unit for several years and have found them to really help my shoulder pain.  I had one that my Dr. prescribed, and I was very interested in seeing how this device compared.  

I feel this Ten Unit by Santa Medical does a great job.  The intensity can be raised high enough to the point where it can become uncomfortable, and I like that.  I like knowing if I need a higher intensity that it is available.

A  tens unit delivers an electric impulse, wherever one chooses to place the electrode pads.  Although from what I have researched the exact science of this is not known, but it is thought that stimulating the nerves with the electrical impulse interrupts the signal going to the brain that says "you have pain"  :)

I do feel this is a very good tens unit and a good option for pain relief.

The most HILARIOUS "auto-correct fail" text I have EVER received

Hi,

Four days ago, I received a new phone.  I was really nervous about transferring my info from one phone to another.  

As I was making sure I correctly transferred everything I wanted, I found a message I had received from my granddaughter that was so funny, that I had saved it.

It made me laugh all over again!  :)

The scenario goes like this; she was around 13 years old and was camping with some family members in a remote location.  She is a girl that is use to the finer things in life and is not big on "roughing" it.  LOL

Here is an actual screen shot of the text she sent me when I texted her to see how things went.

I read and re-read that text, and finally had to reply, "Huh?"

Auto correct gave me a huge laugh that day!

Here is how the text should have appeared:

There is no "phone" service, we "ate" pancakes every morning, no makeup, no people that are actually your age, no nothing.

I find both texts amusing!  Ya gotta love her!!!!!  

Maybe turning "off" auto-correct would be a wise choice. Ha!
